United Kingdom Real Estate Data

The UK is a three-portal market led by Rightmove, Zoopla and OnTheMarket — and PropAPIS extracts all three through one API. Rightmove alone draws ~125M visits per month and carries ~1.1M listings with 90%+ agent coverage, making it the single richest English-language property portal (Online Marketplaces — UK portals guide ).

Leading portals

UK property listings concentrate on three national portals — Rightmove (the dominant leader), Zoopla (which adds AVM valuations and sold-price history) and OnTheMarket (the CoStar-owned challenger). PropAPIS has a dedicated platform page for each:

Market overview

The UK is dominated by Rightmove plc, an independent FTSE-listed company with ~125M visits/mo, ~1.1M listings and 90%+ agent coverage — the single richest English-language portal in our coverage. Its data is unusually accessible: full agent details, photos, floor plans, EPC and structured embedded JSON (scrape.do — Rightmove ).

Zoopla is #2 (~50-55M visits/mo, ~0.9M listings) and sits under Houseful Ltd, owned by Silver Lake (Houseful also runs PrimeLocation). Its differentiator is data depth — Zoopla adds AVM “Zed-Index” valuations and sold-price history overlaid from the Land Registry, which makes it a premium source for valuation data (ZPG Ltd — Wikipedia ).

OnTheMarket (~15-21M visits/mo, ~0.5M+ listings) has been owned by CoStar Group (US, NASDAQ) since December 2023 and is being heavily funded to grow (CoStar press room ). The CoStar acquisition is the key consolidation event in the UK — it puts the #3 portal under the same parent that owns the dominant US commercial cluster. Across all three portals, sold/transaction history (via Land Registry overlay on Rightmove and Zoopla) and Zoopla’s AVM are the scarce, high-value fields.
